Choosing a service

IPTV Subscription Length: 3, 6 or 12 Months – Which Is Worth It?

Longer plans cost less per month; shorter ones keep you flexible. Here's how to decide when 12 months makes sense – and when it doesn't.

The main decision when you buy an IPTV subscription is the length. Short plans keep you flexible, long plans lower the monthly cost. Which is right depends on how sure you are about the service – and the best time to find that out is before you pay.

The golden rule: trial first, long plan second

Buying 12 months without a trial is the most common mistake. Use a free trial on your own TV at your usual viewing times first – here's how.

Plan lengths compared

Length Good for you if… Bear in mind
1 month you only need a short period highest price per month, often not offered
3 months you want to confirm the trial in everyday use sensible first purchase
6 months the trial and first weeks went well noticeably cheaper per month
12 months you're sure and watch regularly lowest monthly price, biggest one-off payment

Working out the real monthly price

Divide the total by the number of months. With round example numbers: if 3 months cost £30 and 12 months cost £60, that's £10 versus £5 a month. The longer plan only wins if you actually use all 12 months. Current KIVARO prices, including the monthly equivalent, are on the pricing page.

What to check before you pay

Automatic renewal

Check whether the plan renews by itself and how you cancel. KIVARO plans don't renew automatically – you pay once, get a reminder before the end and decide then.

Number of screens

If two people watch at the same time, you need a plan with two connections. You can usually install the login on more devices, but only as many can stream simultaneously as your plan allows.

How you pay

Use a payment method that protects you, such as a card or PayPal. Our 12 checks before choosing a service explain why.

Refunds

Read the conditions first. KIVARO's refund policy covers cases where the service doesn't work on your device and support can't fix it within 48 hours of activation.

Typical situations

  • "I only want it for the season." Count the months you really need – 6 months is often cheaper than two 3-month plans.
  • "My Wi-Fi is patchy." Start with 3 months and improve your network first: Wi-Fi and router settings for IPTV.
  • "The trial was great and I watch every day." The longest plan is usually the most economical.
